In 2021, FLSmidth announced it was acquiring the mining business of thyssenkrupp AG. Partner Jonathan Winch was asked to lead all aspects of integration communications for the acquisition for a 14-month period.
How did we solve this challenge?
Failure to communicate effectively during a merger or acquisition has significant effects on revenue and morale. Internal acceptance of the merger or acquisition is key to helping your company move forward while maintaining its brand reputation. Cylindr was assigned a full-time, intensive task stretching over a 14-month period – and encompassing everything from communications workstream management as part of the Integration Management Office (IMO) team to content and Day One event production. Jonathan set the strategy and interacted both with the FLSmidth team and the team from the carved out “Mining Technologies GmbH” entity. The pace was fast and involved over 200 staff through a long planning and implementation period prior to Day One.
